We are happy to welcome Alen Roj as the new head coach for our national U17, U19 and Senior team.
Alen is a former professional badminton player and was born in 1992 in Slovenia, where he completed a bachelor degree in sport science. After his move to Germany he attained the highest German badminton trainer’s diploma (DOSB A-Trainer Badminton).
Since 2017 Alen has been working as a professional badminton coach, gaining working experience with BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim, the most successful German club in recent years, and was also head coach and manager of Badminton Academy Saarland.
The recruitment of Alen is an important step forward in the development of the trainers’ team as well as for the federation as a whole, as it allows Frederic Mawet to concentrate all his energy on his principal job as Feluba’s technical director, a task which has become more and more time consuming since he took up this position three years ago.
