🇨🇲 Cameroon International Challenge
The Cameroon International Challenge brings the latest African tournament block to a close.
In men’s singles, Jérôme Pauquet reached the Round of 16, where he faced Switzerland’s Simon Kuenzi, currently ranked WR 131. Kuenzi took the match 21–11, 21–18, with Jerome producing a much stronger second game and pushing the Swiss player closely towards the end.
In men’s doubles, Yannick Feltes & Jerome Pauquet reached the Quarter-Finals, where they were beaten 21–16, 21–15 by the Thai pair Wongsathorn Thongkham & Tanatphong Tiansiralert.
The players now head back to Luxembourg for a short training period before their next international tournaments.

🇨🇲 Cameroon International Challenge
Jerome Pauquet and Yannick Feltes have moved on to Yaoundé for the Cameroon International Challenge, the final event of their three-tournament African block.
The tournament has attracted a strong international field, with players from across Europe and Asia, including India, Thailand, Malaysia, France, Switzerland, Spain and the Czech Republic.
Jerome received a walkover in his opening Men’s Singles match and will next face the winner of Pranav Ram Nagalingam (IND) vs Tobias Kuenzi (SUI).
In Men’s Doubles, Jerome and Yannick begin their campaign on Saturday against the winner of Wongsathorn Thongkham / Tanatphong Tiansiralert (THA) vs Mammout Bouba Oumarou / Don-Donné Sassou Vatsou (CHA).

Just over a year ago, Stéphanie Dauch joined the Federation as Administrative Director, with one of her key responsibilities being to further develop FELUBA’s communication and strengthen our presence on social media.
Over the past months, she has worked closely with Farazi Hossain, who joined us as a student of Lunex and brought his creativity and energy to our social media activities.
Together, they have reached an important milestone: more than 1,000 followers are now part of our community! 🏸
This achievement reflects the growing visibility of Luxembourg badminton and, above all, the work being done to share the activities, results and stories of our players, clubs and community.

Lagos International Challenge 🇳🇬
Jerome Pauquet faced experienced Indian player Sameer Verma, who has reached a career-high World Ranking of 11. Jerome produced a solid performance but was unable to match Verma’s pace and quality, going down 13–21, 12–21.
In Men’s Doubles, Yannick Feltes/Jerome Pauquet opened with a convincing 21–4, 21–7 win over the Ghanaian pair before facing a strong Thai combination in the next round. The Thai pair controlled the match and took it 21–11, 21–11.
The players will remain in Lagos until Tuesday, using the additional days for quality sparring and match play before travelling to Cameroon for the next International Challenge.

🇱🇺 European U19 Championships – Final Day
Luxembourg’s European U19 campaign came to a close today with the final doubles matches.
In MD, Luca Perfido & Maximilien Zeimes produced a strong start against Ireland’s Cian Blakeman & Ciaran Chambers, taking the opening game 22–20. The Irish pair responded strongly to take the second 21–6, before Luca and Max battled hard in the decider, eventually going down 21–13.
In WD, Daria Demchykhina & Jill Felten started well against the No. 2 seeded Swiss pair Vera Dübendorfer & Sofiia Uvarova, competing strongly in the opening game before losing 21–17. The Swiss pair then showed their quality in the second, taking it 21–9.
A week of strong performances across the board for Team Luxembourg, with plenty of valuable experience gained against Europe’s best U19 players.
Now it’s back home with plenty to work on over the next month before the next block of international tournaments. 🇱🇺🏸

🇱🇺🏸 European Junior Team Championships
Luxembourg fought hard against two strong opponents, Germany and Sweden, showing clear progress throughout the group stage.
Against Germany, several matches were extremely close, with strong performances from Luca Perfido, Maximilien Zeimes, Daria Demchykhina and Aurel Pulcinella.
We then pushed Sweden much closer in the second set, 55–50, with Daria Demchykhina & Jill Felten winning the WD 11–9, Daria narrowly losing her WS 33–32, and Filip Liska & Jill Felten going down just 44–43 in XD.
Despite the results, the team continues to improve, compete for every point and gain valuable experience against some of Europe’s strongest teams.
Now onto the playoffs! 🇱🇺🔥

🇱🇺 **European Junior Championships – Luxembourg vs Lithuania 🇱🇹**
Luxembourg opened their European Junior Team Championships campaign with a strong performance against Lithuania, despite going down **2–0**, with both relay sets finishing **55–46**.
There were plenty of positives throughout the tie. **Daria Demchykhina** produced an excellent WS performance in the second set, beating **I. Salnaite 11–8**, before combining with **Jill Felten** to win the WD section **15–9**, moving Luxembourg into a **33–31 lead in the second set**.
In MS, both **Aurel Pulcinella** and **Filip Liska** produced competitive performances against **D. Tankevič**, while the team continued to challenge Lithuania across all five disciplines.
Luxembourg were in contention at various stages of both sets before Lithuania eventually closed them out **55–46, 55–46**.
A very encouraging opening performance with plenty of positives to take into the next match. 🇱🇺
